Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    can anyone give me a link or video of the tg4 docu on the redlegs in barbados?
    i seen it when it was on tg4 but cant a vid or clip on the net..

    Sorry I can't help. I saw it at the time and it was most interesting. Have you tried TG4? Have you a particular interest in the Redlegs?

    You'd have to contact TG4. Radharc also did a programme in 1976 on them as can be seen in full below -

    tommy the Red Legs of Barbados are white, not the same as the Black Irish of Montserrat, though they have both been in the Caribbean since the16th century. Irish were exiled to both islands, mainly by Cromwell as slaves. In Montserrat some of the Irish slaves eventually became slave owners themselves, and gave their surnames ( and, it is said, the Irish language ) to their African slaves.
