I just finished reading a book called "Magyk" by Angie Sage. Its the first in a trilogy called "Septimus Heap" and I recommend it to anyone who enjoyed Harry Potter. Site is here. I think His Dark Materials (Trilogy) is the great, I really enjoy it and I think one should consider it.
