Has anybody any experience of buying commercial zoned property and converting to Residential? There is an old house for sale that was first a house and then used as an office/commercial and we would like to renovate back to residential, the estate agent has told us there will be commercial stamp duty charged at 7.5% I see…

Has anybody any experience of buying commercial zoned property and converting to Residential?

There is an old house for sale that was first a house and then used as an office/commercial and we would like to renovate back to residential, the estate agent has told us there will be commercial stamp duty charged at 7.5%

I see there is a Revenue Scheme to re-claim that stamp duty in this case, not sure how difficult this is?

Will we need planning permission as a change of use?
