Wouldn't touch Hidden Hearing; have heard nothing good about them.

Specsavers; haven't heard anything much either way about them. Them may be good.

Have used Bonavox myself, and others have spoken praise about DeafHear (now Chime).

If you work/have worked in the past, check out if you qualify for the disability grant; "The Department pays half the cost of a hearing aid subject to a fixed maximum of €500 for each hearing aid once every fourth calendar year". I had good experience with Specsavers 6 yrs ago but not so lately. I think the expertise of the staff is key. Prices vary hugely but at least better value with Specsavers. In the end the higher prices include fancy extra features such as rechargeable battery, bluetooth and app for adjusting. I think the audio experience of a basic model is good enough.

I got my hearing aids in Specsavers. Currently on the 90 day probation. I plan on keeping them. No issues so far both home life and in work. Couple of adjustments here and there but overal best 2,900 I've spent on two hearing aids. I used my PRSI as well

I couldn't agree more on Hidden Hearing....I bought my two hearing aids from them...they are a most annoying company...

+1 on Hidden Hearings annoyingness, I have no idea whether they are any good for supplying aids, but I don't intend to find out.

Not impressed by one experience/appointment with Specsavers for hearing aids, though I get glasses from them no problem.

Had aids from Bonovox, first aid was very good. It took me a long time to get used to it, they persevered with me though. Cheaper second pair of aids less so, but still ok.

I had a very bad experience with Hidden Hearing and would never recommend them.

Specsavers have been good for me but it really depends on the technician, their familarity with your chosen brand and the complexity of your loss. Stick to their popular models and you should be fine.

If you have a complex hearing loss or really want a particular brand of aid then go to an audiologist that specialises in them.

This is a tricky time to buy an aid as everyone is wearing masks and pubs / restaurants are closed. So it's hard to road test a new aid now. Something to keep in mind.

I'm with Diagnostic Audiology (Sandyford and Clontarf) and I'm happy with their service.
Currently using Resound Linx (not happy, frequent failures), but previously was on Phonak Audeo (happy).
