Pipe fitter or welder trade advice?

    Hi there im looking to get into a trade and i have narrowed it down to being a pipe fitter or a metal fabricator/welder as i think i would like both trades but am not sure which would suit me better and what are the pro's and cons of each like pay difference, job availablity and trying to stay off building sites if possible any incite appreciated thanks!

    If you contact the solas centre in finglas, ballyfermot or drogheda, they will advise you. The online info is useless, but they have good leaflets in the centres.

    You could try a part time welding course, if your any good the trainer will put you through for an apprenticeship.

    I did the welding course last year and thought it learnt alot. I just needed a cert for my public liability insurance.

    Hi, in my experience you would probably have a wider range of work opportunity with the metal fabricator/welder, I would see the pipe fitter as a bit more specialist. It is good advice to try the part time welding course and see where it leads
