Painting over tiles

So we recently painted utility room and now the tiles on splashback look awful - more yellow than cream.
Is painting over tiles a difficult thing to do? Or do I just put up with it and change the tiles in future for those Chevron marble tiles instead?!!
Has anyone changed their splashback and is it an expensive/wall damaging job?

Personally changing them out is a better option, painting them means you will of course have to continue to paint them when they look tired.

those little tiles come off easy enough with the claw end of a hammer
