San Marzanos have started to flower, touch wood have been very lucky, have been careful not to overwater and havent used any sprays. Cant wait to get stuck in!!

Mine are self seeding but they decided to creep along the ground rather than upwards this year.




Here are some more from this Summer, this one is Tigridia pavonia or Tiger flower. In general it does not survive the winter in Ireland so dig it up later on and store indoors over winter or else treat it as an annual, which is what I tend to do. The flower only lasts from 8AM to 5PM, but each plant produces 3 flowers over the course of the following days.












The next on is Cichorium intybus or common chicory. The leaves look like dandelions during the spring and the plant will grow 5' to 6' high producing a mas of blue flowers over several weeks. I believe you can roast the root from this one and use it as a coffee substitute.
