Listening to Lyric FM on Alexa at the moment. They've just run with the news, twice! They play the same bulletin again. Not the first time they've done it. Seems to be a regular occurrence.

Then you have the times they go to the news and nothing happens.

Surely, in this day and age, they can get these things right. I can imagine the production meeting. They admit they ****ed up but there's no sanction against anyone.

Is everything on there now pre-recorded?

Have a listen to Blue of the Night, the music levels are grand but when the presenter talk it sound like he's using a very cheap mic.

RTE have rather antiquated playout technology that likely doesn't adapt as well to remote working as newer systems do - and I'd presume they are partially or fully remote currently

Marty Whelan did an interview with Leo Sayer before lockdown which was obviously pre-recorded and the levels were all over the place. He even played a song before the interview that was also included during the interview.

Agree - since it began being presented from home (i guess) there is no level checking happening whatsoever, you are consistently BLASTED out of it by the presenter, its been happening for months!!

Maybe its that old cliché that you hear about DJ's "Red means its on, right?!"
