    Hi

We are hoping to go to the Algarve next June for a holiday. 2 small children (2 and 4 years). We have stayed in Praia da Rocha for past 2 years and absolutely love it but we were looking to try somewhere new.

We are looking for family friendly accom with kids pool etc for children. We would hope to be close to beach and town centre. We were half thinking Lagos but would be up for any other recommendations.

Thanks in advance for any replies ðŸ‘

Have a look at "the old village" complex/resort in Vilamoura. It's a stunning complex with 3 pools(one very good kids pool), a few bars and restaurants and a supermarket. The accomodation varies from studios, 1 bed apartments and upto 4 bed townhouses, all equipped with full kitchens with ovens, dishwashers and washing machines.
We've stayed there 3 times and love it.
It's about a 15 minute stroll down to Vilamoura marina which has all the restaurants and bars, shops etc. The beach is probably 20mins walk away. We'd usually walk down and get a taxi back for about €4.20.
Vilamoura is a bit more expensive than the rest of the Algarve tho but with the facilities in the apartments we usually only eat out for dinner. We would do breakfast in the apartment and usually make rolls or cook up something light and bring it to the pool for lunch.
Most of the accomodation is privately owned and booked from places like owners direct but there is one management company looking after a good few rentals.
The only negative about the place is that the company that manages the maintenance of the whole place are in charge of the pools and charge €1.50 per morning/evening for sun loungers so it's €3 a day each. Other than that tho I really can't find another negative. The grounds of the place are stunning, flowers everywhere and the place is like a manicured garden.
Anytime we've gone we've met other young families like us who are all on return visits. We have yet to meet anyone there who hasn't liked it.

That's one of the management companies but we've always booked thru owners direct and used this owner

Both of his apartments are lovely but the garden one is probably more suited to younger kids, it's a little smaller than the roof top one but also more modern. The owner, Carlos lives nearby, he's very friendly and available to help out with anything if needed.

When you look at the pics there nothing photoshopped or staged. The place really is as pretty as it looks.
