I hear Dick Dale passed away at the weekend RIP. Any fans on here?
King of the Surf guitar, friend and tester for Leo Fender, big influence on Hendrix, Beach Boys, Slash. Pulp Fiction soundtrack intro created new interest in Dick in 90s with Miserlou.
Played in Dublin a few years ago.

Sad to hear about Dick Dale.
In my mind he was a bit of an unsung hero. He influenced so many, but sort of stayed under the mainstream radar for much of the later part of his career.
It was only when Pulp Fiction (1994) came out and later when the Black Eyed Peas released Pump It (2005) he became known to a newer generation and got some deserved recognition.
Here he is going for it on Jools Holland in 1995.

Listening to him here on Spotify hadn't listened to him in about 20years forgot all about him actually. Last heard him on some radio 1 special one evening always ment to folow up on that.
Listening back a lot of his stuff sounds like what you'd get if you locked the the beach boys away for a year with the Metallica back catalogue and tequila ...loads of tequila .

    All good
Rock in peace , Mr Dale.
