I'm Neil. I have a bit of a varied music setup. I make french/disco house, but i have a predominantly guitar based setup. I use 2 AKAI Controllers for producing house, but I build/modify guitars and guitar pedals on the side. Right now, I'm working on a fairly big project to start 3d printing guitar effects. My 3d printer needs a few little modifications, but mid-late january should see the first prototypes being made.

That's kinda it really!

i hope im in the right place asking this?

New to Ireland Music Producer

I've just moved over to County Laois from the north of England where I have been creating music with some of the young musicians in Carlisle, Cumbria. I moved here to get a new start and try to eventually start a career in the music industry here in Ireland. I'm looking for some musicians, singer/songwriters, producers, music technicians, sound engineers or anyone who is involved in music/ the industry to introduce me to the Irish scene, or maybe work on some projects with me.
I atteneded college in Carlisle studying music technology and production where I produced various tracks for bands as well as my own electronic music and spent the summer recording, producing, promoting and gigging my band Native Eyes second EP Metanoia.
I'm currently working on my own stuff at the minute including some House track which I'm looking for a vocalist/ songwriter to work with and various other ideas that i would want to share with some creative minds around here.
I have some basic equipment at my disposal such as a mixer, microphone, synthesiser, guitars, bass guitar, violin, launchpad, launch control and i record & master using Logic Pro X and mix in Ableton Live 9 Suite.

I can't post link because I am new users...

Hey All,

Currently I just record through a Focusrite Studio into Reaper on my laptop.

I'm taking classical guitar exams so am trying to record those pieces however the sound is terrible, there is extra noise etc. It's quite a steep learning experience. Ha ha ha.

I'm also recording some multi track original acoustic guitar pieces and also want to record originals with a drum machine, my son on bass and myself on electric guitar.

I've ordered a music production book on Amazon which should be here any day so can't wait to get stuck in so that at least I'll have some inkling of what I'm doing.

Looking forward to reading all your posts and tips.

Hi, I'm Conor, 29 yrs old, and I'm new on

Right now I'm just a bedroom music producer, drawn to sound design and creating experimental music. I'm also very much into dance music.

I use Reaper as my main DAW. It personally suits me the most because I like having the option to use hotkeys on the keyboard to control things - like creating automation for last tweeked parameter, ctrl-Z undo change, create sidechain modulation etc.

I like Dune 2, and Sylenth 1 for getting things done fast and easy. Even though I like sound design, sometimes I go through phases where I have no patience for it, because I'd rather be making ideas instead. I also like to experiment with samples and mixer chains to make new sounds, and I tend to experiment with huge amounts of distortion.

I'm Joe

Although I own an i7 Mac Mini with 16GB and Final Cut Pro, I produce most of my 'output' on my PCs and use Picasa. My PC platform is an old but reliable Ideapad Z500 with Dolby Theatre v 4.0

My specialisation is recording playback with my Stereo Recording Panasonic V770 camcorder. A mono microphone can be connected to this for a singing pianist, without affecting the stereo. Stereo Recording is also carried out with my Smartphone, a Google Pixel 3a.

Thanks for rebooting the sticky!

I suppose I have the classic 'portfolio career' — a number of roles that all revolve around different types of music: electronic (experimental, modular), dub, psychedelic (classic 'west coast'), choral, punk, heavy metal...; producer, recordist, writer, mixer, educator, electronics tech...

Not really added to any particular brand or price point of gear, but I do have an unhealthy addiction to 2 things: good iron (i.e., audio transformers); accurate and pristine digital conversion. As a result of these cravings, I've spent quite a bit on equipment over the past 20 years. Fortunately I have electronic skills and a bench, so I've rescued many a vintage (and modern) audio gem that's been destined for the dumpster.

My current set-up consists of: PrismSound Orpheus (I've had this for 10 years and the the old adage 'buy cheap, buy often' comes to mind—if you buy right in the first place, you'll only rotate the interface out occasionally = savings in the long run!); Neve 5432 for the flavah; Roland RE201 for the echo...echo...echo (also the spring reverb is insane on these); 2 x Soundcraft Series 2; 1 x Soundcraft Series 1; Lexicon PCM81; dBx & Valley compression, Valley & BSS gates; large collection of analog synths—eurorack, 5u and Buchla; large collection of microphones—MKH series for choral, AMBEO, MicParts kit LDCs, modded Rode, RE20, quantity of vintage and modern Shure dynamics; selection of guitars/basses—Reverend, Goodall, Fender; selection of amps—Bird Talisman, Swart AST, Vox AC120; more stands, mic bars, and cables than you'd care to imagine (these live in flight cases most of the time); a 5k PA (for shows in clubs with substandard reinforcement); Apple computers (about 5, I don't really care about computers so long as they do their job); DAWs — Nuendo, Logic, Reaper, Harrison; plug-ins (all legal) — iZotope, Valhalla, Eventide, Harpex, FabFilter, Acustica, Klanghelm, SoundToys.

I don't really differentiate between the studio and live — live offers spontaneity and studio allows for refinement and precise editing. The technical advances that have accompanied and enabled the live experience in the past few years are impressive and have rekindled my interest in live mixing and production.
