Well, it's a tad early for the thread but we already have our first talking point.

Leinster Quarter-finals to be moved to May 21st to accommodate Bruce Springsteen at HQ:

The Leinster SFC and SHC quarter-final double-header scheduled for 29 May has been brought forward to 21 May after it was confirmed that Bruce Springsteen will play at Croke Park on the originally scheduled weekend.
The GAA said that the counties involved - Dublin, Kildare and Wexford - were "happy to accommodate the switch to a new date".
‘The Boss’ and the E Street Band come to Dublin on Friday 27 May, with another date on the Sunday likely if the original concert sells out.
Wexford and Kildare's SFC quarter-final clash and Dublin’s SHC last-eight meeting with Wexford were pencilled in as a double-header on the Sunday but have now been rescheduled to the Saturday eight days previous.
The winners of the Dublin-Wexford hurling collision will have the dubious honour of a meeting with All-Ireland champions Kilkenny in the provincial semi-final on June 11.
The victors of Kildare's tie against Wexford will take on either Longford/Offaly/Westmeath in the football semi-final on June 26.
The GAA statement said: "The GAA can confirm that a decision has been taken to schedule a concert by Bruce Springsteen for Croke Park on 27 May of this year.
"Sunday 29 May was due to feature a Leinster senior championship double header between Wexford and Dublin in hurling and Wexford and Kildare in football.
"These games will now take place as a double header at Croke Park on Saturday, May 21.
"The Leinster Council and all three counties involved in the 29 May fixtures were aware in advance of the concert and are happy to accommodate the switch to a new date.

It is terrible. There should be no concerts or other sports events on there during the championship, especially when fixtures have already been set, as in this case. The American Football should be set every two years for the same slot as the International Rules is on, when it is free. Then we wouldn't have the kind of debacle we had over the Kerry v Mayo replay in 2014, or the likes of this. I have friends coming over that weekend from England and Scotland, and only last night I was thinking about bringing them to Croke Park. What better than a double header of Football and Hurling for some visitors? So unless the GAA cop on and tell Bruce who really is boss, bang goes that idea.

It is a bank holiday weekend in Britain, so a lot of tourists would be here, a good chance to sell their games. They'll get more income from Bruce, but the games should be more important, so Bruce should be on a free weekend.

Flukey everyone should move for the Boss.

Apart from that I agree with you.

If the original fixtures were set for the 21st no one would have batted an eyelid.

As regards the BH in Britain... good god!

why are were games fixed for Croke Park anyway? part of the argument about Dublin playing all their games in CP is a lack of games for Portlaoise, Tullamore etc yet games which will draw small crowds are dragged up to Croke Park. Baffling IMO.

Kildare v Wexford was played on a Saturday night in Carlow in 2009 and it was a great occasion. Playing this fixture in an empty Croke Park does nothing for Leinster football.

And the GAA just fined a club in Longford two grand because they allowed a soccer school to take place on their premises last summer and apparently that's not in keeping with the "the aims and objects of the association".

I believe Wexford requested it take place there as a double header for their footballers and hurlers.

So what's happening with Garth Brooks?

So what's happening with Garth Brooks?

He's doing 25 Croke Park shows this Summer I believe.
Plus 10 in Thurles, 5 in Portlaoise and another 5 in Clones.

    Championship is cancelled.

Sure we'll have the Euro finals anyway to keep us happy.
