Jobs in Galway

Aright Folks...
I'm on the prowl for jobs at the moment, location is prolly more important than the actual job. I've always wanted to work for a while in galway ever since that fateful night during NUIG rag week 06, so im just wondering if there's a recruitment website specific to Galway?
Cheers...

As a side issue: im headin up to the races for the first time next week, is it true that Suits are compulsory?

You could get a job for the races no bother if you asked them now. They give you a job on the spot. Curry's, Schuh, and some restaurant in town are looking atm.

Yeah, they are still hiring although the hiring for operators is nearly all done through www.cregg.ie

Both Nortel & Cisco are recruiting software engineers at the moment, as is IBM I believe.

Cisco and SAP were hiring when I was last looking, but according to them I didn't meet their criteria. I got calls from a few places but only one in Galway and lucky enough I got the job. Professionals.ie was the best website and CPL were by far the best recruitment agency and they specialise in IT

Think I'll head down on Thursday and look all day fri and saturday. Is that a bit early?

I am going to ring schuh tomorrow and lick some bum! Curry's would be ok too..

I'm from meath and doing this randomly, so should be fun!

Check out the employment section on www.galwayadvertiser.com - there can be some IT work in there, I know there were a couple of IT jobs there last week.
I would second CPL as well, they have a fair bit going on IT wise. Probabaly a good idea to actually call into them with your CV and discuss yourself and background with them.

Just a word of warning however, the IT sector in Galway is nowwhere near as much of an employees market as it is in Dublin and jobs, especially good jobs are far thinner on the ground than they are in Dublin with more people competeing for less positions.

The chief I.T. companies hiring right now in Galway are Fidelity, IBM (Vallent), Cisco, Nortel. The market has hugely improved in the city in the past 12 months or so.
