Baz you should be able to put in some distance this week with very light Easterly winds and rising water temps.

After 28 days in a row, I'm definitely going to take it a little easier this week. If I average 500m a swim, that'll be OK.
    My shoulders will thank me

Its the time constraints, rather than conditions that are stopping me really. Can only really go between 9 and 5 each week day, due to family commitments, and then work gets in the way. Try to go at 9 most days, but that limits me to about 15 minutes max in the water

Got in yesterday, 7.2 degrees. Did 3 buoys from Kavanagh point around to 40ft. Great push around so around 8 mins in

More relaxed this week. In each day, but a few times were just about watching a friend as he builds up distance/confidence

A few ups and downs health wise over the past couple of months but hopefully in a position now to start ramping up the volume.

Not a great week for distance swims. Conditions poor for the majority of the week. Maxed out at around 650m one of the days. Still, enjoyable dips all the same

Better week than last week. Conditions were excellent for the majority of the week, but definitely didn't take full advantage. Time constraints unfortunately stopped me from doing many long swims. Temperature is rising nicely though

Another week with plenty of small swims, and no long distances.
Water temperature seems almost tropical at this stage

Got in for my first sea swim of the year early today, absolutely amazing watching the orange ball rise over the horizon. It wasn't as cold as expected- mind you I was covered from head to toe in neoprene! Still have a ways to go to get to you lads standard:D

Best week in terms of distance. Great been able to swim in the evenings again.
The sea temperature is the biggest limitation now. Managed 33 minutes one evening, but wouldn't fancy any longer in skins at the moment

I've been avoiding the OW, got in this morning covered with Neoprene, two of my mates in speedos and a cap (nearly every day since Jan!)... as one of them says, we all have plenty of Bioprene :D

Be careful out there. Went out for swim at sea point Saturday gone. Got to 1st buoy, seen two lads talking at buoy. Both in wetsuits. One of the other lads I was with asked was all ok.

Well seems one of the two lads in wetsuit was in trouble. So onto your back lad while we swam him in....

I was back up for the other two if they got tired. Tough to get him back as sea had bit of chop plus current was pushing us down.

The lad in wetsuit was touch out of it. Reckon touch hyperthermia and panic with chop.

Anyway all’s well that end well. Once out and wrapped up he was good to go.

It was quite choppy in Seapoint on Saturday. I only went out to the first buoy and back as still building up time in the cold. I could see how with the choppy water a weaker swimming could end up being in the water longer than planned - this is all experience. I did count 70 people in the water from the edge though!!

Great swell this morning near high tide at sea point. Fun & games going out to first buoy, kinda love that rolling swell. Went to 3rd and back. 22mins in, water was lovely
