Mad miss alright, but Lyttle caught ball watching and completely lost where his man was.
Twp Ulster defenders marking the same man who didn't even end up getting the ball.

The level of praise for the try is ridiculous, it was shocking defending with no mitigating factors.

19 year old young lad and his first touch.

    Context is key

Yes, a nice story and worthy of praise but why devalue it by going blatantly over the top with only a passing mention of the defending.

This has been a very low quality match.

F**k it though, an away win is an away win.

    That is outstanding from Stockdale.

Stockdale makes a good read in defense! Rejoice!

Think that Bath tip on was forward. But a brilliant intercept from Stockdale all the same.

What a finish to the game, superb stuff from Stockdale.

    What a tackle/dispossession from Stockdale.

Looked like a certain try to win it for Bath.

Cooney and Coetzee are the main men in that team

    Stockdale's defence eh...

Stockdale has come from a mile back to make that intercept as well. Incredible finish.

The silence from the co-commentator was lovely at the end. Great ending.

Would love to go to a game in the Rec, great ground

    Stockdale is a pure opportunist.

  • It's brilliant seeing Ulster winning games like this. Two seasons ago I feel like this would have been a disappointment.

Well done Ulster, no doubt Jar Jar will be celebrating in the main thread this evening :D

Still not sure how we won that.

    But great result nevertheless.

Just watching back the Stockdale intercept, it was an absolutely amazing read, he didn't bite in on Mercer and changed his lane to cover the wing after copping that Mercer was looking to offload. Superb piece of play.

Unbelievable. The confidence to take that line and then catch in one hand. Obviously took a chance, but you have to make it work and he did.

Was just looking back myself and was about to post the same. He would've caught Mercer himself but knew he would probably have gotten the ball away so directed Cooney to stick on Mercer and snuck into the passing channel. At a pivotal moment he read the situation instantly and executed it perfectly. Outstanding considering the iffy few months he's had and quiet game up to that point.

Would like to think it would have been called back for the forward pass. There's a high threshold to overturn them when the ref allows play continue but the fact it was a tip on pass removes momentum from the equation so it's just a simple question of whether the ball travelled forward which it did.
