Planning on doing some painting, but will the ONT be ok without power or should I aim to keep it plugged in?
I don't want to lose settings if it's without power for an extended period.
    Thanks.

SIRO ONT can certainly tolerate loss of power for a few hours at least (had a power cut and also have turned off main fuse for alarm or electrical maintenance since I've had it).

A 14 hour ESB power cut caused no issues with OpenEir FTTH (Digiweb)

ONT stores nothing important. Its SN is burned in and that's all that really matters.

As mentioned, no issue with ONT being powered off indefinitely. Unplugging the fibre patch cable is not recommended.
