Ehh, prices just dropped in the last week in Dublin by about 8%.

    Again, you just dig deeper.

I clearly said average prices have been $40-$44.

8% (which is probably one supplier catching up with another) is within that 10% movement.

Capital oil are probably the benchmark. They dropped 4%.

Their high was €438 in mid August, €427 10 days ago and €407 today

Their movement in the last 10 days was 4.7% or €20.

I certainly would not lose sleep over €20 for 1,000 litres of fuel.

Keep digging. The hole is getting bigger.

Next door neighbour couldn't use her stove as the new smokeless coal was proving practically impossible to light so she has changed over to oil. She got 1000 litres for €409 from Mr Oil here in Enniscorthy.

I won't miss the stinking smoke from her chimney.

Prices are steadily dropping for the last month and particularly in the last few days.

Had 3 diff reps from oil suppliers call to the door this week. Told me they were quiet as everyone filled up in March/April when prices dropped quickly.

Let's lighten it up a bit.....

Who, here, did the best just before the carbon tax? Copy and paste this and add yourself to the end...

    Got that in late April.

37c was the cheapest on cork .. it never dropped below that.

I don't think that looking back at what was is helping this or any BA thread. Posting current figures is what most people would like to see I'd imagine.

First of all I dont think you should be resorting to personal abuse regardless of who posted what. Secondly their "spat" has been commented on already and as a result of that they seem to have copped on.

    Nothing personal about it.

damn - thought someone said prices were dropping. Prices seem to have gone up a little. Only up by €9 for the fill, by up nonetheless. €406 yesterday for Capital oil and up to €415 today - I'm not going to cry over it as its way better than the past few years and I can remember the days I wouldn't get 500l for that price.
Taking the 415 and going to be happy with it

They were all hovering around €435 all summer up until about 3 weeks ago so look on the bright side.

It will be very interesting to see if "BUDGET 2021" announces any increases in the cost of Home Heating Oil under it's Climate Action plan to lower CO2 measures. Of course any planned increases may defer the hike until Spring/Summer 2021 with winter almost upon us. Next Tuesday 13 October 2020 is Budget Day so we should know by then.
