Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Finding it hard to fit these runs in same as everybody else but getting them done. I'm doing duck all else so impressed by post say these runs are add-on to their training.

    that's xmas morning run done, managed to run despite the drinking over the last few days, mostly the bare minimum but something getting done at least...

    annual xmas day swim in a couple of hours, and the clonmel 4 miler tomorrow. that'll help with the turkey calories

    Walked for 40mins earlier, but I know thats cheating. So got it a 30min run in the dark, post turkey, several types of booze swilling in the tummy... nuts but the sort of nuts to remember

    We had vistors today, plus a trip to the beach, and any run looked so unlikely that I had almost thrown in the towel... but managed to grab the very last light of the day for a 6k trot. Thats the hardest couple of days done with, reckon it should be plain sailing from here on.

    Last few days been really tough. Christmas Pints, chocolate, crisps and wedding so have been wrecked.

    Finally had a clear head today so went from Marley Park to the Fairy Castle and back. Very enjoyable.

    Easy 6k recovery run... two more days to go but so far the consistency has been great to improve my running and I'd contemplate trying a 30min swim every day in Jan to see what improvements that brings.

    few decent runs over the last few days,happy with the 4 miler i did in clonmel stephens day, was only 25 seconds off my pb on that course on a day when the winners were a minute down on the usual winners time, largely due to a strong headwind for the last 3km home i suspect. and honestly i wasn't even flat out, so there may be more top end there than i had suspected.

    have a cold now, no surprise as two kids have one each for the last week. if this had happened earlier in the month i'd have binned this but with two days left i'll do two easy 30 mins, shame to let it slip now. only managed to complete this once before.

    Its so mild out...quick 8ish km along the Dublin quays this evening. Looked really well....that is....if you like the neon madness on show! Irish Ferries must have been commissioning the new WB Yeats Ferry. The let the fog horn off for about 1min non stop...scared the sh!t out of me.

    Done and dusted, the last run of the month took me over some hills with good views. This has been a worthwhile exercise, I finished the month running stronger than at the start, and I avoided any potential-hangover excess in order to run the next day. Glad I did that.

    Done and dusted for Dec, just finished the last run on the treadmill and perversely enjoyed hurting running some fast (for me) sub 3.30km efforts. Enjoyed getting out every day and it has left me in better shape than last year heading into Jan.

    Finito. Really enjoyed the challenge. Made sure drinking was kept sensible enough. Running far better now then at the start of the month. Admittedly I dropped every other sport bar soccer so looking forward to getting back into swimming and cycling.

    Weather was ideal for this one too so made it that bit easier.

    Cheers and congrats to all that started this. I was lucky enough to make it to today. 3rd or 4th year to start on Dec1st but the first year to complete it.
    The big difference this year was the banter here and the mild weather to boot. I might try to follow up with come XC races in Jan.

    well done all. that's definitely the highest proportion of completions we've had, its normally <20% at best that complete it, usually a lot less. think the mild weather played a helping hand

    been fun, glad to make it to the end after having to give up with a flu on the 29th last time i did this. that was a sickener. lot more bare minimum runs in this than i would have preferred, but something better then nothing

    till december 2019....

    indeed, was in japan last week so will et it set up in next couple of days.


    nursing a foot injury for last few months so won't be running myself, but hopefully we get a few brave souls
