I can't explain how I (as a huge Smiths fan) avoided this band for so very long. It seems to me that they would have been the completely natural progression for any Smiths fan with their hook-tastic, cleverly constructed, wordy and melodic compositions. How did I not come across all but the songs that I literally tripped over till recently?

Anyway...I love Death Cab for Cutie! Congratulate me! :)

Plans is a great album but didn't like much else after that

The Postal Service album is amazing (Ben Gibbard side project)

I'm a big fan of Transatlanticism. 2003 was quite the year for Gibbard with the aforementioned The Postal Service album coming out that year too.

Everything up to and including Plans is great. After that they became very bland.

    They sound like Villagers.
