The LCU Cups will take place throughout the month of June this year. The Opening Round will take place on Sunday, June 9 at 6pm in the Talbot Hotel with finals on Sunday, June 30 at 6pm in Buswells Hotel. The intervening rounds will take place in home/away format - clubs who don't have access to their venue over the summer can request away-only games. Entries close on June 1 & can be made here: https://www.icu.ie/events/1250. Overall entries are limited so we may close online entry before June 1. LCU Cups rules will apply: http://leinsterchess.com/LCU_League_Rules.pdf.

Disappointing entry overall - 10 teams overall, with the Brennan and Killane merged into one competition to give numbers. Bit of a shame; would be nice to see more teams enter, but I guess the competition has fallen out of popularity in recent years and there may be work to be done to bring it back to what it was.

Results are on chess-results.com here. St Benildus' Ennis team almost took a fairly sensational draw off Gonzaga A in the Branagan. Not many 10-year-olds taking draws off FMs though!
