Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    of nuts on sprockets.

    have a old 12 ton hitachi and sprocket nuts are seized tight on it.

    best job would be heat but what do others use. I don't have gas but how would others here remove them

    Is it just nuts ?
    Not bolts.
    Can you cut them and replace them .
    Widen them with a chisel.
    Nut splitters.

    Others will say plenty of penetrating oil.
    Turque multiplier will open or snap anything

    sorry theyre bolts, allen key type. you never get in right to cut them torque multiplier probably work but chance you could ring them

    breaker bar did not work,

    would propane gas cylinder and torch alone heat them enough you think to get them off

    Local agri factors swears by using mapp gas torches for seized bolts when they are rebuilding pto shafts and the like.

    I’ve used them for forgework and they will redden 10mm round, May just be enough to get you going.

    I paid €70 for the torch and a gas cylinder

    hi i dont think gas alone is hot enough to remove them
