Gust of wind just sent my black bin flying down the end of my back garden.

    North Dublin.

    It's certainly windy out there.

Ice rink closed in Galway City earlier due to strong gusts of wind in the area

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,597 ✭✭✭corsav6

A couple of huge gusts coupled with heavy rain just woke me up. The bins are the other side of the garden, and that's where they'll wait until tomorrow.
Nothing major in between the gusts though, a few showers and moderate winds.
    Just outside Newport Co Mayo.

corsav6, exactly the same now in Castlebar, it had calmed right down, now blustery showers have moved in.

Munster couldn't handle the special weather that the Sportground offered up in Galway today. Twas epic!

Huge change here compared to earlier today, from temps in the mid teens to freezing cold windchill and squally showers.

A massive hail downpour has turned the place white just now, impressive shower with very big hail

Weather is worse now this morning than it was yesterday, very strong winds and strong gust, hailstones and heavy downpours!

Absolutely black here on Kerry Coast. Winds must be close to gale force.

Occasional heavy rain shower, makings of another duvet day !

    :)

    Stay safe out there !

58kt gust in DUB airport yesterday evening. Any other time of the year and this thread would have been hopping. The forecast was gusting 35-40kts so a bit of a surprise.

Very rough night, hailstones, Big bang of thunder, wasn't aware of the warning but had some very windy nights on run up to Christmas when no warning was issued either. I noticed on Christmas eve the thunder and lightning I witnessed wasn't on the lightning radar, and last nights one was very close but still on the radar the nearest one is away out in Donegal bay. Doesn't seem to be very accurate.

    1050 West Limerick

No wind other than an occasional puff of a breeze.

    Dry with bright sunshine.

    10°C

In terms of wind, it was a non-event here in West Limerick. A typical day for this time of year.

Thanks to all those who posted reports :)
