TBH I don't mean best as in sexiest and I'm probably basing my opinion of her more on her performances in Supercop and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon :D

Had the pleasure in meeting Samatha Bond (moneypenny) the other evening. She was in the o2 for Jesus Christ Superstar watching her husband it it.I grew up with lois maxwell as moneypenny and never liked her.

Decking Rick O'Shea twittering today about how disappointed he was with it. I want to see it without preformed opinions. Bad form or a self confessed film fan to do.

To be fair if you want to go without preformed opinions then you should simply avoid the Internet and media entirely before a big film gets released. Of course people are going to be talking about whether they liked the film or not - cannot possibly see how it's bad form to do so, unless it's a spoilerific tweet.

He went into great detail about how full of plot holes & how bad it was spread across four tweets. I've turned off every possible connection I could with my various news feeds, have only watched one trailer & avoided every print article I could. I couldn't have done much more

I didn't even watch the music video in case it gave anything away

I remember people were speaking of Halle berry as the best Bond girl. They even thought she should get a spin off. Such nonsense.

I asked the lady in the office and she said that its not strictly formal but people will more than likely be dressing up. I was at one of these before and people were suited up. There is a prize of a bottle of Bollinger for the best dressed man and woman. I'm going with 3 of the lads and we are suiting up. Not black tie but suits. Should be good fun, Bond is always the highlight of my cinema year. My understanding was that it was sold out but I am not sure.

So you're reading the Skyfall thread why???

At the media screening there was only 2-3 suited up for it and they stood out and looked a bit silly as a result, each to their own though.

I had to laugh at the posters in the Savoy stating "You have a license to tweet #skyfall" and they then proceeded to check in everyones phone. Then they had the weather guy from TV3 plead with people to stay off twitter and the likes so as not to spoil it for others.

She's well up there in the best of them, is there for actual plot advancement instead of eye candy (even though she's that too)

Right, this is really bugging me.

Why do these new Bonds have to be throwing nods and winks to previous episodes? I find it really detracts from my enjoyment, and found that while CR had some necessity toward establishing a new continuity, my enjoyment of Qos was seriously strained having to throw my eyes to heaven at every single nod.

Sure why does he even have to be called James Bond. Why not name him Jerry Bondson , have him drink pink gins with no ice, and drive a Jaguar XKS. Oh and have him shoot a Makarov M3.

From out there on the moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, ‘Look at that, you son of a bitch’.

His name, drink and gun are continuities.

Drowning a woman in oil to mimic the drowning of a woman in gold is just irritating. He should have spent more time making an original Bond movie, and not a new Bond movie paying homage to scenes from old movies.

I am a big fan of the James Bond movies. I can't wait to see if Skyfall will replace Casino Royale as my favorite James Bond film.

Really? I don't get it, she was probably one of the most wimpy in my opinion.

There has been way better Bond girls down through the decades.

For me Barbara Carrera 'Never Say Never Again' was one totally hot kick ass piece of crazy! :pac:

Saw this in Dundrum tonight. Not bad at all.I wasn't enamoured with Bardems showing though, very ham and cheesey.

I agree with the above - just back from the savoy. Not a lot of the Bond Girl, not much action but thats probably because of the plot. I suspect the next one should be brilliant. The opening scene was brilliant :D

I was at this screening last night - very tight security, they wanted everyone to surrender their mobile phones and any recording equipment.

As to the film - IMO, it's probably the worst of the Daniel Craig films. It started reasonably well, but it took a turn in another direction. I particularly didn't like the very final scene, which seemed to undo all the good work in revitalising the series.

For first impressions, I didn't like it.
Skyfall, reverted back to the classic Bond formula that we were all getting sick of by the end Brosnans term, even the theme song (which I had avoided listening to) was hauntingly familiar and pretty much set the tone for the movie.
I wasn't interested in going to see a classic Bond movie, if I want to see a classic Bond movie I will slap on a Goldfinger or Dr. No dvd. What I wanted to see here was a new Bond movie, in the new mould that was set by CR.

Maybe the MGM are just trying to play it safe now that they haven't a pot to piss in?

I want to see Skyfall on screen 1 in the Savoy (Dublin) tomorrow night. It says there are shows at 8pm and 9.10pm. Does anyone know which screening will be in screen 1? I would imagine it's the 8pm show but if someone could confirm it that would be great...

I liked it. But i also liked QOS..

They cant keep reinventing the wheel with the same actor, so he's going to have progressed from a hard edge sas thug to international super spy by his third outing.
