Topaz 99c Petrol: Feb 12th - 16th

Topaz has announced that it will provide fuel at a cost of 99c per litre at 33 participating stations in Ireland as part of a fuel giveaway this month.

Motorists will have the chance to fill up their tanks with miles fuel at that price at 33 participating sites that will be revealed over the course of five days, starting next Monday, 12 February.

From Monday onwards, the chosen sites will be revealed each morning on the Topaz Facebook page.

Im all for a bargain, but Black Friday there was actually a car crash due to the deal at my local one, there was absolute mayhem, they shouldnt be allowed to do it.

Link not working. Topaz promo rarely as good as advertised as we have found out previously.

Bit different to previous ones?

A ‘miles’ promotional staff member will be present at each site and the first 250 motorists who show up to each forecourt and say miles “Takes you up to 3% further” will win a voucher to fuel up their vehicle’s tank with miles fuel at 99c per litre.

Winning motorists have two weeks to redeem their voucher at the site where they received it.

I'm no socialist but this is commercial capitalism at its worst, getting the great unwashed to behave like unruly clowns for a maximum €15 saving in return for guaranteed free media coverage. I loves a bargain, but not at any cost.

Not all tanks are 40l I've 60l and there are bigger, so there's bigger savings to be had.

Would be close to €11 if the tank is drained and normally priced at €1.38, which is the prices I've seen around my area over the last few days.

Seriously guys, why are we supporting Topaz? Most expensive fuel in the country, formerly ran by one of the biggest crooks in our countries history DOB, and another of the most incompetant politicians of our time Brian Cowan is on their board. Im not sure but i think they get the government contract for ambulances, garda, etc.

Always the dearest petrol around me, and where ever I drive to. Im not going to feed into their horrible, horrible idea of this slogan challenge. Shame on those that do.

Because i genuinely dont have to put as much fuel into the car after using a full topaz site. Any taxi driver I've asked have said the same. That includes the fact you pay an extra cent or two per litre.

And i can't believe the govt. Would give a contract to the most accessable service station in the country. How dare they!!

I've a 70 litre petrol tank so I could save 28 euro if I filled it from empty but I always thought these offers were limited to 30 litres or 40 litres?

And I wouldn't queue like a numpty for ages to do it on a once off like I see people doing.

I don't know if this has been mentioned already but I work for topaz and how it's going to work is when you visit one of the selected sites of the day and say "miles fuel gets you further" to the sales assistant you get a voucher that can be used in that store anytime within 2 weeks to get the 99c fuel so you don't have to fill that day. Hopefully shouldn't be as crazy as the black Friday sales that some sites held.

clowan was kicked off the board when it was sold to the foreign company. although the irish ceo is a bit of a tosser.

Often hear people saying Topaz are the most expensive but I've seen little evidence of that. I pass 3 different ones a couple of times a week and they seem to be the same as all the rest or in one case cheaper than nearest Maxol.

Plus if you get a topaz fuel card (free with 3 rewards) it knocks another 3c a litre off.

I choose not to use Topaz because they charge me for air! Yes I know they have costs but I have plenty of other garages in the area who provide this service as a courtesy to it's customers. It's a nice touch and they get my business.

Totally agree re charge for air. I could see the logic in previous €1 refundable requirement but Mr O'Brien charging for air is "the pitts"

You do know O'Brien sold it 2 years ago.

As for paying for air - your choice is a near always damaged second rate inaccurate pump free, or pay a euro and have a properly calibrated machine that is almost always working.

I'll pay the euro - my tyres are over €150 each so a euro every few weeks will be well paid back in longevity of the tyre
