Unless you are known to the an post employee you will not be able to collect it without the person being present

Ask for a form to be appointed an agent
Fill it in and send it off

Not sure how long it will take to process it

Arrange to have it paid into their bank account.

How do I go about switching the payment to a bank account?
I'm struggling to find any info on the welfare .ie website.

At the moment they are allowing family members to collect on behalf.

Bring their card, your own I.D. and I would suggest a hand written letter stating you can on their behalf and the date of collection on it too.

I've heard them advertising this on the radio

    Try the
"Application form for authority to appoint an agent"
    (150k 03-17 <may be reference no)
The post office had a paper version (in my local)

    Agent needs a PPS no
    Form
Part 1 pension details and independent witness
    Part 2 agent and why
Part 3 / 4 agent agreeing to terms
part 5 allows for a bank account deposit or nominate a post office
Part 6 is filled in by a doc if the person has no capacity

Or ask the an post employee if there is another form for deposit

OP, to not answer your question :D

In the past year I've had reason to phone them a number of times over various issues that I did not understand.

Every time I found them to be exceptionally helpful and patient and also remarkably flexible

Its possible that its not like that now due to the C-19 hiatus but I would say its worth giving them a call as there may be options that are not on their website

    They are on 074-9157100
