Do we have to start stocking up after today's news on the minimum pricing of alcohol.

It's just a Bill so far, approved by Govt, but not passed by Dail and Seaned.

    Would it pass? Maybe.

It won't pass very easily given the ruling when this was tried is scotland not so long ago.

There is a final ruling expected on the subject at the start of 2016, so that should set the precedence for the Irish proposal.

Looks like everyone's a winner bar the people who like to have a wee sip at home.

Pubs will welcome this and the off licences might be able to compete with the supermarkets if it's passed.

It's a countrywide offer, so depends if a store orders it in (or enough of it in!)

    ..same with Centra!

Damnit, read your post after buying a few slabs of Carlsberg. 18 cans of Club for a fiver isn't bad.

28 a slab buy 2. Use voucher then you have 48 cans for 46 Euro. Best I got today was 20 bottles for 11 Euro in Tesco naas. Box was in reduced section and battered and selotaped together but not like that gonna bother me obviously a one off.

I'd imagine they'll come down to €24/€25 before Christmas, they have every other year.

This weekend Sunday Independent has €10 off a €50 spend voucher, these are accepted in Tesco so current price there is €28 for 24 so 2 crates works out at €46 or circa 96 cent a can.
