Okay as far as I've found: there are three seperate photos of Jon Venables as an adult circulating the internet, taken on three different occasions.

Now, if we're not allowed to post links here I will describe them instead, so we know what we're talking about when discussing them.

Photo 1: Jon pictured with three co-workers, each holding a pizza, each pizza says E 2 0 3. jon is holding the E,.

Photo 2: Jon sitting with co-worker (same guy as in previous photo), it looks like they are on a night out. Jon is on the right, both dressed in black.

Photo 3: Jon sitting on the couch on his own, wearing a grey hoodie.

Now to the people who've seen the photos: surely that's not the same person in pictures 2 and 3, they look completely different!

Why no mention of the other guy? He seems to have escaped completely from the public eye.

The other lad integrated back into the community, complied completely with his restrictions etc, got a job all that kind of jazz. Keeping his head down, and fair enough, he seems to be making a go of it. People/media leave him alone, as they should. He hasn't done anything to compromise his new identity, I think he's in a relationship with a fella now. Living together, settled down. No trouble.

Venables since his release has been involved in drink and drugs, street fights, possessing and distributing hardcore child porn... He has had a number of new identities over the years because the fool was in trouble and revealing himself. That twat lost his right to anonymity IMO, he should be fed to the wolves of the papparazzi.

I just read a brilliant article about this though, stating that this might be for a reason different to you think... Jon Venables was the only one who showed remorse as a child, Robert Thompson never showed any remorse. Jon cried in court, Robert laughed and picked his nose.

The article speculated that Robert was able to go on with his life as if nothing happened, because to him: NOTHING EXTRAORDINARY did happen. He is a psychopath. Whereas Jon spiralled into self-destructive behaviour and drug addiction.

    Article here:

The dark irony of this is – Venables was actually less guilty than Thompson. And unlike Thompson, he did show remorse.
    That’s right.
Read up on the case – he was a follower. Thompson coaxed him, Thompson instigated it. And Venables followed him.
Then, in custody, Venables actually showed remorse. Thompson did not.
And, when freed, Thompson couldn’t care less about what he did, while Venables, according to the reports, actually was haunted by it. His self-destructive behavior and the crime he committed seem to indicate a subconscious desire to be punished – again.
No such thing with Thompson. He’s completely happy. To him, what he did is just a minor annoyance and inconvenience from the past. Again, the reports make it clear if you read between the lines – he was and is a remorseless psychopath.
The irony is that Venables, the less guilty one of the two, is now indeed punished again – while Thompson, the evil, cold, careful, merciless, remorseless, guilt-free psychopath, is covering himself very well and is out there, somewhere, unnamed, laughing and glad it’s all about Venables now rather than about him.
It’s a little as if trying Goering while knowing that Hitler got off…

And also another little interesting comment after the article:

@ colin – funnily enough i knew these 2 things from school and yes, thompson was a coniving, evil little **** and venables the silent follower!

It's amazing what a bit of searching can turn up: if you go to the warrington gurdian's website and look at :top read articles" on the front page, the top article is where the original pizza picture is from. It has now been taken down.

That's probably what started this whole ball rolling: a bit foolish of him to pose for a newspaper?

He didnt pose for a newspaper.

He didnt pose for a newspaper.

He posed for a picture that was to be sent into the paper.

Though I suppose it would have looked odd if he had refused to be in the photo either.

Yes well there is that theory. It's irrelevant though in terms of why the focus is on Venables instead.

That was all dealt with and considered by the parole board.

Weird. Imagine how all his ex co-workers must feel.
