Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Wet pubs.

It doesn’t need any explanation. It’s Just the most stupid ridiculous crass phrase or whatever the fcuk it’s supposed to be...ever. Who ever came up with it should be publicly stoned and then burned at the stake just to be sure.

Its a pretty accurate description of the state of the floor and jacks at the end of the night... in some such establishments.

Wet has three letters. In the whatapp and twitter age thats why it was adopted I reckon.

Another gave context on the term: "We prefer Traditional Pub ‘Wet pub’ is derived from an internal industry term ‘wet-led’ used to identify a pubs main product range (beverage).

"As media have tried to describe the differences in pubs for Covid regulations the ‘led’ has been dropped from ‘wet-led pubs’"

A quick Google shows it's a pub with a sink behind the bar, whereas a pub with no sink behind the bar is a dry-pub. So still doesn't make sense. It's bastardised to mean pubs that only serve drink (wet), compared to those who serve food (dry(?) products).

Well they're wet from the tears of vintners who don't care about their negative effect on society.
The noise of their pubs at nighttime, serving too much drink to troublemakers, ignoring drink driving, replacing stock with cheaper versions, serving slops, etc.

    Boo hoo...

The proper phrase is "A Public House which serves alcohol but does not serve food". Brexit should always be stated as "The exit of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the European Union"

Go down the back of the wet market, take a left at the pangolins and go through the curtain.

    Destination: pints

Still not as bad as, 'if it's meant to be it's meant to be' or if it's meant to be it'll not pass you by.' No, get up off your arse and make it happen.
