Without fail this is my favourite thread on boards every year, but even for me this is a wee bit too soon!!

Have liked the last couple of ones. I do try to wait till the ad is released however it always gets spoiled by hearing what its going to be.

To be honest that article read like a clickbait article... take it with a pinch of salt, we won't hear anything more concrete for another while yet. :)

    Christmas Commercial for H Samuel

    Shot earlier this month.

The casting call is very interesting as it lists the Characters - and there is ice skating in it.

    One character for example:
"Joanne - (Christmas) - Playing age 30-32, Mum of 3, 2 boys and a girl. They love Christmas time as it’s a chance for the whole family to come together and bond."

    Casting for a supermarket advert:
"A time travelling Supermarket delivery van takes us through the decades to celebrate 100 years of a UK Supermarket."
I am guessing it is Tesco, as it was founded in 1919

Seeing the ads will be interesting for me as this is the first year I will not be shopping in person at Christmas. voyeurism rather than participation!

am not happy about this prospect:

Streaming wars could threaten traditional Christmas adverts, as 1/4 Christmas shoppers watch zero live TV

It is so true. We are usually working in the kitchen or chatting with the tv on only as a background thing. We then run in when a good Christmas ad is on and tunr up the volume, this is mainly the first few days home, we don't do it for the whole two weeks.

Funnily enough we'd be one of those who watch v.little live tv or recorded stuff and ff the adverts, but at christmas we (well, me really) tend to not skip them to take some in, purely for nostalgia really as adverts rarely influence our shopping.

We would generally be the same. Watch v little tv and stuff we do watch is mainly recorded so can skip the ads however definitely watch the Christmas ones. I honestly cant think of a time I was persuaded to buy anything based solely on a tv advert.

Another one for the bucket list when the kids are a bit older.

I went to Disneyland Paris in early December one year, it was a brilliant time to go because it was all decorated for Christmas but the school holidays hadn't started yet so it wasn't really crowded.

At the end of the day when it was dark, after the fireworks display when all the rides are closed but the shops are still open and everyone was moving towards the exit, it started to 'snow'! It was fake snow of course, but I wasn't expecting it, but with the music and Christmassy feel from the decorations etc it was easy to suspend your disbelief and get caught up in the Christmassy magic. Although there was one child, probably around eight or nine years old, loudly going "THAT'S NOT REAL SNOW, IT'S FAKE SNOW, IT'S NOT REALLY SNOWING, IT'S FAAAAAAKE" and I really wanted to tell them to shut up and stop ruining it for everyone :o

Wow, that sounds amazing (apart from the one annoying kid!)

My sister is going next month - she has an annual pass & she said it will be all decorated for Christmas. I'm seriously jealous!

I have been to DP one Summer and it was great, always wondered how it might be at Halloween or Christmas.
