Joe, I posted this on the Crads v Mets thread thinking it was the World Series thread.

Anyone know if NASN are doing this one free ?

Surely the World Series deserves its own thread! Haven't got NASN myself but watched on a nice ESPN stream last night.

You can get them on www.rojadirecta.com

It does say on the NASN site that it will be live on Tuesday.

5-0 to St Louis last night they now lead 2-1.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,377 ✭✭✭Benedict XVI

    Well I gor conned.
At 1am last night NASN went from a blue subscription screen to live coverage of Game 3, they did the whole pre-game, and just before the first pitch it went back to the blue Subscription info screen.
Oh well, at least I will get good sleet for the rest of the week.

Got the stream up and running, great quality, now it's a pity there is a rain delay.

I'm not sure if I can last the distance tonight, I'm fairly tired already. Maybe if the delay isn't too long the start will wake me up.

Well if you didn't you missed nothing, it was called off at 3am ish.
It is now re-scheduled for tonight, with game 5 for Friday night and then back to Detroit if needed.
Problem is the weather is not prommised good for tonight and tomorrow in St. Louis and bad for the weekend in Detroit also.

They should start a few day-night games so we can watch at a decent hour.

I stayed awake for the whole of the 2005 World Series film they were showing, which was quite enjoyable.

Cardinals won 5-4 last night, making it 3-1 in the series. They can win it at home tonight!

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,186 ✭✭✭kensutz

Is this being shown on NASN after Setanta tonight?

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,117 ✭✭✭✭MrJoeSoap

Well its all over, Cards win Game 5 by 4-2 to take the series 4-1.

    And I missed it. :(

Well it was like a lot of the other games, Detroit getting an early 1 run lead and then lossing it through thanks to errors and running mistakes. Brandon Inge struck out swining with men on 1st and 3rd to end it.
    Overall St. Louis deserved it.

Do you think Eckstein's MVP was deserved?

No doubt about it, it seemed that everytime he came up he did something, ran hard, put Detroit under pressure.
I can't think who else would deserve it, beasuse as the commentators said last night, it's not that the Cards palyed really well, it's just that Detroit played poorly and Eckstein wqas one player who really took advantage.
    He really stood out.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,117 ✭✭✭✭MrJoeSoap

Its a bit unusual for a shortstop to win it (even more unusual when you consider Eckstein is only 5ft 7!), I didn't see all of the games but going 8-for-22 is a good enough start I guess, and he certainly proved himself as a quality clutch player in games four and five.

This forum is going to be dead now until April!

Thrilled with the result. Managed to win 120 euros too after putting a 20 euro bet on the redbirds at the start of the season.

I refute that, dead 'till April?
    What about the trade rumours?
    Winter training sessions in Ireland..
Managers being fired and hired..potential drug scandals..
(Mota being banned for 50 days!)

..almost too much going on to keep track of!!

    We'll see... :D

Only four people posting in the thread about the World Series...

Totally agree, watched the repeat of the 1988 World Series with Kirk Gibson a few weeks back and haven't seen many sporting events like that in my time, some of Michael Jordans moments being up there with it.

Unless you were being sarcastic, of course...

If you are being sarcastic then you are a moron.

Absolutely zero point in commenting on
something with as rich a history and passionate a
worldwide following as baseball when you obviously
    know nothing about

    You sir, are a clown
