The Sunday Times reports here (paywall):

    - Swim Ireland says some hotel pools could reopen in phase three of the government roadmap on June 29, even though swimming pools and leisure centre facilities have been placed in phase four on July 20.
    - 50% reduction in capacity in pools, and a two-metre distance must be maintained between swimmers.
    - No lessons.
    - Lockers closed. Where are we supposed to keep valuables???
    - Some changing rooms closed. Where are we supposed to get changed after? Toilets?

Won't be that much help to them anyway, people still can't leave their county in this upcoming phase?
(Unless I've missed something in the news)

From phase 3 (i.e. 29 June 2020), you can travel anywhere in Ireland. See here.

Any idea when this is going to happen, can't see any mention of it. I'm dumfounded water safety isn't a major priority with the stay at home summer, I really need to start giving the kids lessons again.

Mime haven't swum since last March.I know Swim Ireland are pushing swim lessons to be allowed as they are a life skill (above gymnastics, to my mind, which is allowed...) but there is still no sound on it.It's very annoying.I swim myself and I can't see any mention of pools any time soon.

Mine the same it's over a year since any of us have been in the pool and it was at least once a week until then, had them in the ocean most of the summer but only paddling I'd feel a lot better if they had the basics mastered which they should have at this stage.
Not into ocean swimming myself just rather mess around in the waves with a little swimming.
Seems to be no risk in chlorinated pools don't understand why they're not open, I'd be concerned at everyone piling into the sea this summer with little experience.
