Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Hi guys,

    I was thinking today about what martial arts would
    suit a guy going to prison and what mma superstar would thrive in a prison environment.

    I think khabib would rule the roost, his cell would be his cell even if he had twelve people in it. But then I thought what if he had to share the cell with a heavyweight?

    What if he had to share it with a heavyweight boxer?
    There is no dodging and ducking in a cell, prison canteen, landing?

    Which fighter in the whole world ever runs the prison?

    A bit of fun lads don’t start getting emotional?


    Fighting styles, psychological profiles all sorts.

    No, I mean whichever "MMA star" happens to have a shiv.
    Can't martial arts your way out of multiple stab wounds.

    Also no-one, not even Chuck Norris, can win in a fight against multiple assailants and no gun of some sorts.

    MMA, you would stand a better chance against more than one opponent if you have some skills.
    BJJ at a decent level would help against 1 opponent.

    I seen a local drug dealer beat up three grown men outside the priorswood pub one night. He never had any formal training. Just fought a lot.

    There are loads of mma fighters, boxers and even pro wrestlers who've been to prison, there must be actual first hand stories out there.

    Grappling/takedowns is a particular bad strategy when you aren't in an environment when somebody can jump you.

    Khabib takes his attacked down.
    Attackers mate walks over and stabs him.

    You often get people on martial arts forums talking about how they train for the streets. No rules, etc.
    But no matter how long they trained, they've still only gouged as many eyeballs as the rest of us. None
