According to sources out of Iran possibly .

How much and for how long that depends on multiple scenarios playing out

Iran on the other hand seized the UK flagged ship in Omani waters, so they've no such defence.

I would discount UK position for the ship. It was in international waters close to UAE and near martime closed region belonging to Iran. The ship was nowhere near Oman waterline or Gulf of Oman.

They will either massively increase prices for some countries while making aggressive movements like they have in Ukraine while using the threat of a long cold winter hangover others to stop them speaking up

So in a supply/demand situation they will get the best price available to them? Isn't this just capitalism?

If the Trump hadn't pulled out of the Nuclear deal and started causing **** over there then there wouldn't be any of these issues, I get that a bad word can't be said about America/Trump in your presence but if you seriously cannot see that this whole thing was started by him then.there really isn't much hope.

Yep a map and this is the position the ship when taken. Qeshm is an Island belonging to Iran. The ship left the strait of Hormuz and was in international waters by United Arab Emirates.

Oman is hundreds of miles away in the complete opposite direction.

Again your making that up .

I stated my opinion on trump , Bolton and US foreign policy on here multiple times on multiple threads and forums

So the ship was in international waters then.

    That was easy

The Gulf of Oman or Sea of Oman (Arabic: خَلِيج عُمَان‎ khalīj ʿumān; Persian: دریای عمان‎ daryâ-ye omân) is a gulf that connects the Arabian Sea with the Strait of Hormuz, which then runs to the Persian Gulf. It borders Iran and Pakistan on the north, Oman on the south, and the United Arab Emirates on the west.

I nearly had to draw it out for one poster earlier,and...HE.STILL.DIDNT.GET.IT

Judging by comments on various social media not many people are buying the wests propaganda either

Awwww poor ol US/UK can't bully countries like they used too anymore and get away with it

There seems to be Omani enclave in UAE Territory. I learned something new today. Completely separate from Oman itself. This small enclave belonging to Oman claims ownership over these waters. Uk is correct, sorry for the confusion about this point.

    https://en.mehrnews.com/news/147885/MPs-call-for-charging-foreign-ships-a-toll-to-cross-Strait-of

In a statement signed on Sunday, 160 Iranian lawmakers cast support to IRGC’s move and appreciated the elite force for impounding the violating vessel, urging the government to approve a motion to charge a toll to ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps impounded the British tanker, Stena Impero, on Friday while it was passing through the Strait of Hormuz en route to Saudi Arabia. It was seized "for failing to respect international maritime rules.”

This will lead to military response if try closing the strait and impose a toll.

It likely in response to US moves to form a maritime security force to guard ships going through the strait of Hormuz. Its called operation sentinel. Iran sees this an agressive action.

Actually checked this out and oil prices have stayed more or the same give or take a few dollars over the last month or so .

Which is actually unusual 30 years ago and prices would have skyrocketed but it seems that world isn't as dependent on oil coming through the straight of Hormuz .
I reckon that the iraq invasion made countries to look at alternatives to Arab oil

What a ****ing joke Iran's military invaded another countries waters and seize a third countries ships.

The fucking idiot of the united states has said that Iran did attack 2 oil tankers in the gulf of Oman, the idiot would want to take a step back and consider the consequences of going to war with Iran, Iran is not Iraq in 2003

They soon would be if the USA, UK and i guess not your Friends Israel started on them.
Few days max and would be more like the 7th Century.

Even better is the contridictons from Iran .

The Islamic court issued a warrant to seize the vessel because of the Gibraltar siezure.
    Then it was technical issues
Then it entered their waters illegally
    The boarded for security checks
    Now it's another reason.

People on here are clearly pro Iran and are just repeating everything they say verbatim.

What a lot of posters here don't seem to realise with all these recent conflicts...Iraq,Syria,Libya,Afghanistan,Iran,Venezuela is that there is one common denominator...can anyone guess what it is?its the US/UK/France and the rest of the axis of evil partners stirring up trouble and bloodshed

I don't think Iran cares much for rules. They after all worked with the west for years and signed a nuclear deal. For Trump to come along and just throw it away and attempt to destroy their country economically. Economic warfare is terrorism- we seem to forget that. Iran is already at war with the US, it just not a military one yet.

UK seized their tanker, they responded like they said they would.

UK seized their tanker, they responded like they said they would.

So they lied about an accident and so did anyone supporting the claim the tanker broke some Iranian law in Iranian waters....

Add the fact that the UK publicly offered return the Iranian ship days ago and the Iranians asked for diplomatic relations to solve the situation including reaching out to our own government .

But then siezed an empty ship.

Seems they can't be trusted just as trump can't be

Yes they took the Stena ship. They actually seized two ships, and released one and maybe one of them had a fault?

Lies are told by both sides. Iran made their intentions very clear they would respond if their tanker was not released immediately. UK had days, if not weeks to let it go and never did. UK press releases is not proof they would release it, they want Iran to go through hoops first.

They want to pressure Iran into changing its ballistic missile program, Iran have told them its non negotiable with bitter memories from Iraq raining missiles down on them(supplied by the west),all these sanctions and a military show of force on Iran's doorstep is supposed to somehow force them into this...as we've seen it clearly isn't working, the US/UK days of bullying countries are coming to an end

Maybe the Iranian cleric's and Revolutionary guard realise there time maybe coming to an end and want to go out with a fight to claim some sort of everlasting glory .

    Venezuela
So its America's fault and not the fault of the last two governments who are robbing the country and people blind? Go talk to some Venezuelans and you might find that they WANT the USA to invade the country.

The present cost of renewing a Venezuelan passport is $3000, a citizen card for a child $6000, so how can you blame the USA ?

I presume you're quoting me?the US are blatantly interfering in Venezuela, and stranglng the country with sanctions to create the conditions for regime change,if what you say is true, millions would be out on the street supporting the US puppet Guaido.... hint:they aren't
