To add to the recommendations above of star/planet apps, I use SkyMap, really useful to figure out what is visible in the night sky

Yep this is the one my husband has on his phone. It will tell you exactly what star/planet your looking at.

You are so right! You cant ask Irish people not to go out over last few days when it's been the nicest weather since about last August! It's not even warm but lovely + sunny. Ffs cornavirus could have come anytime in last 6mths + we could go nowhere with all the rain.

We have managed to get plenty of walks in while keeping our social distance. It can be done!

yesterday was a fantastic day weatherwise, felt so much warmer, probably the warmest it felt since the dry and settled spell during the first half of September last year.

Another beautiful day although it is a tad breezy

Beautiful day in cork city. Sunny and warm in places sheltered from the wind.

Lovely day again, we'll miss this when the airflow turns back north! That said the dry and sunny conditions will remain. Is it too early to predict a long hot summer? :)

Everyone to the er back garden.

Lovely sunset in West Mayo this evening. The first sight of the sun since Sunday here. Pure s**te for four straight days!

It was lovely alright! After being largely overcast here in Central Mayo all day long, the sun found a sliver of a gap out west this evening to reveal itself briefly just before setting. Yesterday was a wet miserable day, but today became increasingly more pleasant as the day wore on even though the skies did not clear properly until after sundown.

Another glorious morning, the outlook using the pressure charts from GSF looks very good overall, the ECM has thrown a spanner in it's works though (sudden reversion to Atlantic regime as of now)

dry morning here but no sun or blue skies.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,677 ✭✭✭SleetAndSnow

Clear blue skies and warm enough out of the wind in Cork City.

Yes Harry Palmr, the GFS in further fi looks good, but in the nearer term the chart below would lead to bracing conditions at the surface, if it verified, but as we know the GFS tends to over egg cold

Brrrrrr wasn't expecting that one today.

After beautiful sunny + very mild weather, today was a shock to the system.

The sun never appeared here + bitter cold all day.

I can confirm that cloud over the central and eastern areas of the country, not a ray of sunshine here at any point today and it felt fairly chilly too. Looks like the rest of the country had a lovely sunny day.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,789 ✭✭✭appledrop

In fairness I'm not complaining we have had an unreal run of good weather in the east.

Cant remember the last time it rained!

We were due a break after 6 mths of non stop rain.

Pretty sure we had quite a bit of sunshine in Dublin 5 but I wasn't looking out too often. Last night was clear too. Overcast now though.

Mostly sunny here this morning in Laois, but cold enough in that Easterly wind.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,789 ✭✭✭appledrop

Lovely cool but sunny morning in North County Dublin.

But does it matter now when we cant go anywhere.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,677 ✭✭✭SleetAndSnow

Cloudier today in Cork but still some blue sky. Stronger wind that's chilly.

Faced with all the CV19 melancholy, at least the sunsets these last few evenings have given us something to smile about :)
