Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.
Thanks all.

The radar on the new ME site has been displaying intermittently for about five weeks now at least. No mention of an imminent fix that I can see anyway.

The old site is working ok - for however long it remains in situ.

It was up to 15.00 about a minute ago and now back to 14.50 even with refreshes.

    Back to 15.00

Up to 15.15 within a minute.

Running late again. Last night it was nearly an hour late.

The much-maligned Shannon radar is beginning to splutter again. It has missed a few frames earlier today and it's down again tonight for the past 30 mins. approx.

I suppose it's been working now for several months without interruption since it's last makeover, so probably overdue another little wobble any time now.

What's the problem with the Shannon radar down every now and again?

Basically it's past it's 'use by' date and on it's last legs. It's had several major repairs over the past 5-10 yrs and still proving unreliable. There are plans to replace the country's weather radar infrastructure but God knows when that might happen.

Really annoying when I'm trying to track nearby thunder cells... I want to go for my walk in a gap without getting soaked.
