    Unbelievable!

I just heard on the RTÉ News website that an Irish man who was doing language teaching for 20 years was stabbed to death outside a private university in Paris.

    https://www.rte.ie/news/europe/2018/1205/1015369-teacher-stabbed-paris/

He was stabbed to death by a former student from Pakistan who was born in 1981. The man, who killed the 66 year old, was there for one year beginning in 2016. He was expelled from his course at the university in August 2017. The 66 year old Irish victim was stabbed to death 13 times outside the front entrance of the building. This news is absolutely horrible. Especially for his family in the weeks leading up to Christmas. R.I.P. to his family.

The suspect was arrested is now being held by French police. He deserves a very heavy prison sentence for his crime. Vile scumbag.

Aaaah, no, a lengthy prison sentence should suffice.

And you think making ghoulish threads in after hours would make his family feel better do you? Seriously what is the point of these threads apart from some weird grief-porn fetish?

Some more additional reporting on this incident.

The suspect is a Pakistani male, 37, who had been expelled from the institution last year.

According to Le Parisien, the assailant had failed his 2017 school year and was not allowed to progress with his studies. He returned to the university around noon on Wednesday and took his revenge, stabbing his former teacher multiple times in the throat in broad daylight.

The teacher greeted his attacker moments before the violent stabbing, a student at the university said. Other students at the scene tried to administer first aid to the dying teacher, but to no avail.

    Well,

    1) it's the first I've heard of it. So now, I'm going to google some more about the story.

    2) Nothing wrong with stating RIP when someone does. It's just a simple mark of respect from some posters.

    Fcuk Putin. Glory to Ukraine!

The punishment for murder in Pakistan is death, send him home for a trial there.

Same here. There's nothing wrong with finding out this story now on the news and marking some respect for the deceased Irish man in order to give some comfort to his family. I only heard this story a short while ago from the RTÉ 9 O'Clock News preview with Eileen Dunne before the lotto. The only major bit of live news I saw today on TV was the funeral of George Bush Senior today on the news channels.

Do you need us to call the Gardai? It appears as though someone is forcing you to open threads you've no interest in.

RIP to that poor teacher, life is cruel.

Surely its more respectful to actually let him rest in peace, rather than using his death as weird entertainment. The crocodile tears seem like self-serving, virtue signalling that you use to mask the way you seem to delight in talking about these things.

I'm being generous in assuming you are not using this to dog-whistle the anti-Muslim crowd purposely.

The teacher has now been formally identified.

    https://www.rte.ie/news/europe/2018/1206/1015455-john-dowling-paris/

A vigil will be held for him tonight in Paris.

It is another reason we should be seeking to eradicate religion from schools and replace it with a more open and tolerant form of module in order to ensure people realise that there is no one right religion and ultimately we are all the same as each other.

While not confirmed as religiously motivated, the perpetrator held a particular grudge against the teacher for an apparent slur on the prophet. This was not remembered by other students but the point is that the perpetrator believed this was a reason to hate a man so much he could feed this into his justification to murder him (along with his exam incompetence).

The European Court of Human Rights block deportations if the person is at risk of torture or death.
