If FG were more prudent when it came to the total cost of the new hospital and other ventures then we would have gotten something small back. But it's Joe Public who pay for their errors. Wan$ers

Looking forward to the next GE

What a strange post..... could you expand on it?

One might say that user may be trolling considering the number of times they say they want things to happen to annoy other boards users.

Can people with disabilities who work full-time avail of medical cards?

    Uh, yes?

I must have missed the news that there was a war on the entire continent of Africa. When people in the North of Ireland were fleeing from violence they just crossed the border to the South of Ireland. That's what genuine refugees do, they seek sanctuary in the first safe place they find. They don't pay to have themselves trafficked to Europe or rock up in Europe then change flights to Ireland and expect to stay here for life because of some cock and bull story they've concocted.

That liar Ellie whatever her face is, made a complete mockery of our asylum system yet her stunt worked and she's now been given asylum here even though she has no entitlement to it. 2 female paramedics needed a Garda escort into a shop on Henry street in Limerick(yes the Henry street a few hundred metres from the Garda station), because the shop they'd been called to(owned by Limerick's recently elected Muslim) refused to allow them to treat a patient because they refused to be treated by women. Diversity is our strength.

Do you think FF will resolve the overspending in the Health, Justice, Education and Social Welfare departments each year?

We got it worse than most because of FF. And different administration? Michael Martin, Willie O'Dea are still there. At the top.

A lot of factors are involved in that

    One being growth.

At least the dole wasn’t increased I suppose.

But it wasn't FF that caused the crash. Fair enough they were culpable to an extent

I find it amusing how annoyed certain people here get over welfare payments, as if it makes any difference to their lives. The same nutters who don't believe in science and hate cyclists and people who dont eat meat. Horrible people.

Amusing you say, amusing you say, how do you know it doesn’t make any difference to their lives.

Nutters you say, how do you know they are the same people who hate cyclists and people who don’t eat meat.

Horrible people you say, how are the “horrible” .

Because they don’t have the same view as you?

How does that make them “horrible”

Lot of issues there Mr Piano, lot of issues indeed.

    Eh?

Look at Claire Byrne live last night....

They had 2 African women on stating how it is and was when one was in a centre and the other still is....

Both were extremely well dressed, groomed, fed and healthy oh and lovely nails etc but yet can't look after themselves and need us to house them....

I wouldn't complain too much. We are still one of the best countries in the world to live in and lucky to be alive now rather than 500 years ago or 500 years from now possibly. On balance we are more prosperous than ever.

The truth is our wealth has made us a throw away society. We drive to the shops now instead of walk because we can afford it. Our rampant rate of consumerism is doing no favours for the planet. Humans are never fully happy as the novelty of pretty much anything eventually wears off - we always want more.

An increase is fuel duty will make me think of walking instead of driving a bit more and maybe that's not such a bad thing.

    I did.

But I dont get why you are looking forward to a General Election when you know nothing will be any different.

What will FF do differently to FG?

Probably not a lot in the short term but FG must be held accountable for their poor management of the country over the last 4 years. Varadker is a show pony with no substance and don't get me started on the clowns that run Housing and Health

Ivan Yeats just mentioned Leo's famous statement that his government were going to look after people who got up early in the morning to go to work.

Before the general election, I wonder how will Leo's people spin it that anything improved for the "squeezed middle" during his tenure.
