So with the Australia fires raging and the air quality in Melbourne being dangerous to players of the Aus. Open I was looking here ..

Whats going on in Lourdes ???

Checked google traffic and nothing unusual, Melbourne was at about ~150 yesterday, but at 17 now .... it seems a bit all over the place this method, I know winds etc can change things, I imagine a southerly wind changed things rapidly in Melbourne, but wtf is going on in Lourdes ?

That sensor could be inside and cooking going on in the house.
I recently made a Luftdaten air quality sensor with an aim to adding it to my weather website and for the moment its indoors, i've noticed that there are huge spikes in air quality numbers when dinner is being made especially if the oven is on for a while. I'd guess it may be something similar there as the number does seem out of whack with other ones locally, though maybe its by a particularily busy road or there is a local fire.

    Great idea, thanks!

Just bought one for myself, but instead of going (suggested by luftdaten site) aliexpress route, bought whole set in EU, approx 45 Euro incl. delivery.

Is that the Polish website?, looks a good bit more complicated to make, fair play.
Getting an external housing for mine from Screwfix today, hopefully will get it mounted , weather permitting this weekend. Web page is a work in progress but the heavy lifting is done, just need to write it up a bit.

It would be great if there was more Irish people doing this, hint hint weather folk! Its dead cheap to do and pretty easy, air quality is so important to our health so the more the better.
If there is an interest I'd be happy to write a guide on here and answer any questions people may have once I've finished my webpage.

Here's a link to the sensor map centered on Dublin where there is an Irish cluster. Grey hexigons are sensors indoors (as mine is currently). Click on the hexigons for readings (click the plus beside the reading for graphs). Zoom out and you can get an idea how popular this is in the EU.

Yes, it is. But the one I used has English version as well. :)

It is popular indeed, continental Europe has way worse air than we have, hence lack of awareness here, I'd say. I guess only handful of people in Ireland know such DIY sensor exists! And I have to admit I didn't know either, until now. :o

I'm housing mine in this box, as the drainpipes look pretty horrendous in my opinion!

    True. :)

Thankfully those PVC elbows are not included, I think I'll find appropriate box in my shed. ;)

First draft of the air quality page is now live on my website, I mounted the sensor outside this afternoon: - https://www.loughlinstown.ie/airq.html

Here's how my sensor looks before installation:

And here it is mounted on a north facing wall, i really need to clean that wall.

Cannot see any ventilation holes over there. ;)

AFAIK it needs approx 75 sq mm of them for appropriate readings. :)

The ventilation gland (on the left) has a 28mm diameter opening = 615 sq mm
