Are we still on for the nice spell end of next week?

yep we are, looks settled for about a week or so. not sure yet about the temperatures but low 20's would be a safe bet. If we manage to draw up some south-easterlies from the continent, mid to high 20's could be possible.

Overcast with some rain in Gweedore. It was very nice earlier when I was traveling.

Sunshine and clouds in Dublin with a shower earlier. Nice enough I guess, an average nice Irish summer day though.

It's turned into a very nice evening with sunshine and a breeze. It's at the day's high now of 20.8C. It felt a bit cool earlier even as it reached 18C. I take it as the low humidity. The dewpoint was below 10 for a couple of hours. That's why I like a bit of humidity. It makes low temperatures feel warmer. It's currently back over 14.

Officially gale force out here; another loud night and deluges.. Snug in here... which is what matters, and no way to light the stove , as if I ever would in August ;)

My life on a very remote northern Orkney island for a decade was excellent training and a grand way to be deeply aware of how benevolent and mild the Irish climate is by comparison. Less than four hours of daylight in winter and storms that lasted three days and flayed the skin off your face.

The weather is what you make of it. And today a quiet home day here. :)

Mostly cloudy today in Dublin 5. We just had a moderate shower there enhanced by gusty winds. Mild.

Just in the Phoenix Park with the dog and it started. Could see it almost a white out coming over the mountains. Hit us and drenched to the skin.
Went on for fifteen minutes. Don’t remember ever being caught in rain that bad. It was pummelling down.

Wasn’t at all. Have a very simple approach to rain.

There’s only so wet you can get.

Heavy blustery showers here in Castlebar tonight. more like late September than August 16th.

The rain was so heavy here in North County Dublin this evening that we had local flooding on roads. I'm not surprised we have torrential rain showers for last 5 days every afternoon evening.

More rain in Galway in the past two weeks than in the previous nine months

Very blustery day in Donegal with numerous bouts of showers and sunny spells. Still managed a lot of exploring though.

Found the Malin Head station too.

Wild weather .. went out for some air y'day afternoon and was hard staying on my feet.... planning to try for blackberries soon if the rain holds off. Love "wind walking" which is as well out here  ah well... all is well, really it is. Glimpsed a bright moon earlier and heavy cloud now. More high winds today they say . west mayo offshore island.. snugged in

past few days have been fairly decent with plenty of sun, decent temperatures and a few showers. Here in Dunshaughlin it's currently nice and sunny but like most recent days, showers will get going in the afternoon and early evening.

Know the way historically we get a proper ‘summer’ in May and then again in September, reckon that will happen this year? May this year wasn’t great

So far the signals for the first week of September are not good, but that's well outside the reliable timeframe.

One of the better weekends we've had this summer in Donegal, windy with heavy showers but plenty of sunshine for a change

High winds have not eased all day with occasional deluges, but the sun has taken the edge off the chill .west mayo offshore
