Location in Ennis is at the edge of town on the Galway road.

Location in Shannon is the town centre.

There's also one in Limerick city, in Ballinacurra at the west end of Childers Road.

And one in Mallow (Co Cork), on the Park Road near the old town bridge.

Edit: there's one in Tipp town too but I'm not sure if there's a more precise address.

Not sure when work is scheduled to start but they're building one on the site of the Bank of Ireland in Deans Grange.

The one in Thurles is on the road to Holycross Abbey.
I think is called Holycross road or Abbey Road.

The one in Nenagh is still on the Dublin Road. It's still called the Dublin Road although the new by pass has opened.

There one opening in Kilkenny on May 6th (or thats there planed opening date, still looks a bit like a building site only started to tarmac 3 days ago)

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,541 ✭✭✭duridian

It's amazing how fast they put them together in the final couple of weeks, kinda like McDonalds restaurants. I reckon they use prefab in their construction.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,386 ✭✭✭EKRIUQ

They build them with bricks, I've seen the one in Kilkenny go up and it took them nearly 6 months, considering there only a shell of a building its long enough.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,921 ✭✭✭Genghis

A little bird told me at the weekend that the Lidl store in Mullingar is to close shortly - apparently it is not doing the business. It should really have been closer to the towns shopping centre, I guess.

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,608 ✭✭✭✭sceptre

Their stores on the continent are always built in out of town or edge of town locations. Apparently they've found that this doesn't work so well in Ireland so most of their newer stores have been built closer to town. The Mullingar store has probably fallen foul of that.
