the GFS 18z has heavy rain for the entire country as Meteorite mentioned, also turns wintry for a time in the far north. the rain on the ECM is less heavy and there is also less wintry precip.

Xcweather which is gfs shows 11cm of snow falling in two hours Monday morning and rain either side of it for my location. Obviously can't be taken seriously at this stage but mad to be even showing that for May. Also has snow for Wednesday and Thursday.

After the frontal rain later Friday night into Saturday morning clears ,might be a half decent day and a lot milder then of late with the winds switched around to the the S / SW. Good drop of rain overnight for Southern counties and looks like some showers during the day in places but dry for a lot of the country until rain increasing from the SW/ W later that night. Breezy during the frontal passage Fri night into Sat morning and windy along Atlantic coastal counties but calmer during Sat day until wind approaches the SW later that night.

Quite a deep depression out there off the W and lucky that it is filling on approach .

Sunday looking fairly blustery overland from early morning to later that evening. Showers could be widespread and looks like the W and NW getting the brunt of it, possibly thundery too.

Big uncertainty on the track and strength of the LP around Thurs/ Fri. Big change from the ECM since the last run, GFS lower keeping the strongest winds offshore.

Would expect to see changes in this for a time to come but worth keeping an eye on it.

Both showing some very wet conditions but will depend on track.

ECM the previous run brought the Depression to the S of Ireland but taking a more direct track now on the 12Z as is the GFS but timing different, UKMO like the ECM but not as strong, ICON staying well to the S with the wind.

Looks like it could be quite wet and another LP system is possible the weekend.

ECM the strongest at the moment but as Met Eireann said in their forecast' THURSDAY: Higher uncertainty than usual regarding the forecast for Thursday, with wet and windy conditions likely in most areas during the day'

Rainfall warnings could be in place Thursday onwards.

Could be 25 to 50mm of rain in places for this period

The next few days are looking very unsettled. The Atlantic is being unleashed with an onslaught of wind, rain and some very cool conditions for the time of year.

A dartboard low will cross Ireland on Thursday with driving rain and gale force winds.

    GFSOPEU06_108_1.png

Temperatures on Thursday may get no higher than 7 or 8C in places with the wind and rain keeping it unseasonably cool.

    78-580UK.GIF?17-6

Very windy at times, particularly across western and southern coastal areas with winds up to 80km/h at times.

    90-289UK.GIF?17-6

The weekend will be chilly with heavy possibly thundery showers crossing the country in stiff north-west winds.

    GFSOPEU06_126_1.png

Remaining very chilly into Saturday with temperatures struggling in the single digits across a large part of the country.

    126-580UK.GIF?17-6

Remaining unsettled up to about Tuesday with rain or showers never far away and temperatures on the cool side.

There is a chance of higher pressure setting up next week but it looks like we will remain on the cool side of the ridge with winds possibly switching into the north.

Models showing it to be very wet all right for Thurs and Fri with various wind strengths being shown by the models atm with different tracks. Windy/ blustery at times at least and maybe stronger winds in the SW and along S coasts for a time as is often the case, no models showing it stronger than yellow wind warning level atm, and quite possible for rain warnings as Pauldry pointed out.

    Relatively slow moving depression.

Wet and windy Thurs and still quite fresh on the coasts on Fri with some big showers . Strongest winds in the SW , S and clipping the SE for a time, highest winds along coasts and high ground in those coastal counties , might need a yellow warning for parts. Rainfall totals high on Thurs , Met Eireann said to stay tuned for possible warnings.

Bullseye! Can see warnings being issued for this one, hopefully the last time we see a chart like this before Autumn.

Hopefully the eye passes over where it is currently forecast by the big 3 (ECM, GFS and Met Office) as it will mean not too much wind for most highly populated areas and therefore a lesser chance of damage to property and injury to people.

Presume that will continue through Saturday aswell ?

We are currently in a very unsettled and cooling pattern of weather over the following 7 days. It will become noticeably cooler from this weekend with temperatures well below average for the time of year and plenty of rain or showers around.

Uppers during the weekend may sink as low as -4 to -6 over Ireland with stiff winds all the way from Greenland. Daytime temperatures this weekend generally between 8 and 12C and night time temperatures between 1 and 5C, it may get cold enough for a slight frost in places.

    45-580UK.GIF?20-6

Sunday will see another area of low pressure with wind and rain sweep in off the Atlantic for a fairly wet and very cool day.

    GFSOPEU06_84_1.png

Remaining cool and showery till Tuesday or Wednesday with temperatures struggling to get much past 11 or 12C. There are signs that high pressure may begin to edge in from the Atlantic from Wednesday which may quieten things down for a few days and temperatures may begin to make a recovery to more normal values.

    GFSOPEU06_126_1.png

Many places may see 40 to 60mm of rainfall over the next few days so plenty of rain or showers around the country.

    114-777UK.GIF?20-6

It remains to be seen if we get this ridge of high pressure from the middle of next week, it is still a week away but would be most welcome by that stage.

We are currently in a very cool and unsettled pattern, the past week has been noticeably chilly and often very wet. The good news is that there is an improvement of sorts on the way over the coming week to 10 days.

Temperatures will be closer to average from Wednesday and by the weekend, it could start to feel more like the beginning to early summer. It will become dryer but not completely dry, there may be some showers at times particularly in western areas on Thursday and Friday.

Tuesday will begin to see the shift in this very cool and unsettled pattern move eastwards with higher pressure moving in from the west.

    GFSOPEU06_30_1.png

By Friday it will be noticeably milder but rain or showers may get going across western areas. Temperatures up to 15 or 16C in places, maybe a degree or two higher if there are sunny spells.

    GFSOPEU06_90_1.png

Warmer again during the weekend and early next week with temperatures close to 20C in many areas, this will be very welcome after a prolonged run of cooler than average temperatures.

    150-580UK.GIF?24-6

    198-580UK.GIF?24-6

The warmer weather may last into the middle of next week with temperatures possibly reaching 22 or 23C in places.

    222-580UK.GIF?24-6

Rainfall over the next week to 10 days is looking alot dryer than recently particularly in eastern areas.
