Beautiful morning. 9c with a low of 1.8c

    Low of -0.7c.

Although most places are quite (or very) sunny now, there looks to be a fog bank in the south Irish sea moving slowly north. Coastal areas of Wexford and south Wicklow look like they could have mist or fog now. Unless it disperses, I can foresee other east coast areas further north becoming enveloped in mist or fog as the day progresses.

The bank could also dissipate but something to keep an eye on as the sunshine could be obscured in some eastern seaboard areas during the day and if that happens, those areas will be very very cool.

Theres Quite a breeze from the south here straight off the sea (Arklow area juts out so due south is sea) gusting to 30kmh so that'll keep the edge off temps here today

I can see that there is a fairly clear section across the southern third of the country, away from the far south and south east, with you being in that clear slot.

In north Kildare, I'm within the cloudy section and as a result the temperature is a much higher 5.6c. There was some fog about an hour ago but it has lifted to a light mist. Low was 0.8c during the night.

I would say that clear section will expand in the coming hours. Should be another decent day for most, especially in the eastern half of the country.

Very thick fog in North Kildare now. Temp is 6c. Looking at satellite, it looks like the sky above is beginning to clear which would explain the rapid development of the fog. On the upside, with a higher starting temperature than places with clear skies, I may have a nice head start on the temperature front, assuming the fog dissolves to a clear sky within the next half hour or so.
