I'm not sure you understand how this warranty works. Hunter didn't need to go back to the store, all he needed was the receipt and serial number to register the warranty from the comfort of his own home. The same applies if he bought it as part of the repair and the shop registered it.

So then it will be easy to check with Western Digital who registered the drive.

If no one registered the drive and it's from the date it left the factory, something is off here.

I know random Twitter links are frowned upon, but if anyone is a bit in the dark on Guiliani's latest nonsense, this is a good summation here (clikc to see the whole thread):

I love one reply quoting NY Mag: "The best thing you can say is that this account is not physically impossible, in that it does not violate any laws of nature or require any discontinuity in the space-time continuum."

I don't think Guiliani is actually this cracked. I suspect that he has been involved in some super-shady stuff with Trump over the years (especially during his tenure as NY Mayor), and is now desperate for anything that might keep him in the White House. Cos if Trump gets investigated, Guiliani is screwed.

Sure take a look at the completely unbiased journalist involved in writing the Hunter laptop story, of course she would have checked all the facts of the case and have no ulterior motive in writing the story.

    All,

Let's keep this thread for discussions specific to the actual election

Polling , Voting patterns , court cases relating to the election , that sort of thing.

General discussions should be in the other threads.

    Thanks

Campaign fundraising numbers came out over the last few days. Very different reasons why the campaigns held off so long releasing, Biden didn't want to slow down donations by people knowing how much cash he had and Trump didn't want the bad PR of how comparatively poorly they're doing.

As ratings seem to be all 45 thinks about, this must hurt...

 are those numbers right, they seem incredibly low for both candidates given 17 million watched the first debate

I'm guessing that is Youtube viewers rather than TV, as they are way too low and Nielsen won't be out until later today.

There is a decent chance Trump ends up with more viewers as NBC have cable outlets, like MSNBC, who also took the townhall and while Biden was just on ABC and also the obvious Trump slow car crash viewers. Given Trump's performance he would want to hope that as little as possible people watched.

Initial Nielson figures show Biden had more viewers than trump. Can't link it at the moment but Biden had 12.7m vs Trumps 10.4.

Surprised at those figures myself given that, as you said above, NBC have cable outlets.

Looks like Diane Feinstein helped Lindsey Graham in his senate race against Jamie Harrison. Her closing remarks she praised Lindsey over his handling of the hearing saying it's one of the best She's been involved in and may pave the way for more bipartisanship. Lot of Democratic supporters losing it on social media

Honestly should be a sackable that one. Either it displays utter incompetency or she doesn't give enough of a **** about the stakes of this election.

I mean Christ, she's 87 years old. It's utterly absurd that she's still in politics.

Gave him a maskless hug too. Feinstein hasn't been well liked lately.

I still think Harrison will be far from outdone by a hug from her though.

Final numbers are out and when all the other outlets are added in Trump narrows the gap but Biden still beats him by 900k viewers.

Expecting a rage tweet shortly, where Trump still finds a way to twist it into him having more viewers (just like he did when he had worse ratings for their National Conventions).

In the grand scheme of things this doesn't matter at all but it is a definite knock to the Trump campaign who expected to blow Biden out of the water.

Whatever you want to say about Biden, he's quite boring. That people would choose to watch political paint drying instead of Trump, when there's a "freak show" element you'd think would drive people to watch him over and above the followers of his cult, probably makes it worse than it appears at first glance.

I'm absolutely confident that the thing here is that you don't understand how it works - for items like this, sale is not registered at all. Default warranty terms are from manufacture date and can be extended with proof of purchase if making a claim. This is how basically all consumer electronics warranties work.

This is a 70 quid or so item, not a multi thousand quid item that's tracked to sale.

The story is insane gibberish that could easily actually have been something planted to make Guiliani look like a fool.

An awful lot of people were (dead rightly) angry with NBC for their decision to allow the serial Dodger the airtime at that slot, in essence rewarding him for his bull****.

Commander in Chief - Possibly the best Lincoln Project ad yet, and its a high bar. It could be arguable that it is a lot of stuff concentrated together, but 20,000 lies is a lot of garbage to struggle against. The Lincoln Project has been playing a blinder for Biden.

Trump is going nowhere and the Supreme court will reinstate him as President no matter what happens. There is a massive buildup in the South China Sea and we may see some skirmish there within the next two weeks as Trump will strike back at China. If somehow the Democrats manage to throw Trump out then expect a very brief and fast bloody insurrection which will reinstate him by millions of WASP NRA american who will not allow a Socialist revolution to take place there. America is truly on a knife-edge at the moment but I see Trump going nowhere.

If he loses the election, the Supreme Court cannot "reinstate" him. Its only on the off-chance of there being something akin to 2000 that it could even end up before the Supreme Court, and that is not looking even vaguely likely on current polling.

Biden winning is not a "Socialist revolution".

I got a good laugh at the socialist revolution line. I wish.
I think the US needs fundamental change such as an FDR type presidency but there is zero chance of that happening unfortunately.

Neither Joe Biden nor Kamala Harris could be considered socialist, by either the metrics of America let alone Europe. Career centrists both. Tacit support of BLM, ANTIFA or whatever sticks in one's ideological craw does not a socialist make - and frankly shows a laughable ignorance of both the individuals own political history, as to be ignored as anything but disingenuous at best. Support Trump, it's a free world, but don't invent nonsense to fit ones support. Biden the Socialist. Bit adolescent.

Low quality posts, linkdumps and responses to these posts deleted. Back on topic and raise the standard please.

We sat again for an hour and a half discussing maps and figures and always getting back to that most damnable creation of the perverted ingenuity of man - the County of Tyrone.

While he stokes the Hidin'Biden meme, we all know that's classic Trump PROJECTION! So we really need to ask "What's Trump Hidin' Now?"

Well, here's one for the League Table of things The Don wants us to not be talking about too much. I can't say where it sits in the League Table, but you can bet your pampooties its in there somewhere...

The Great State of Texas has 254 counties. That's a lot you might say. Well, the Good Ole Boys at Governor and A.G. Level, staunch Patriotic Republicans each no doubt, would have the entire population of the State forced to put their drop-off ballots IN A SINGLE DROP OFF BOX PER COUNTY.. So, heres the thing:

HARRIS County gets ONE (1) box
    and
LOVING County gets ONE (1) box.

All fair you might say... But:

HARRIS has a population of 4,713,325 folks

    LOVING has 169!

    Now THAT'S worth hidin' !!

And they're trying to limit each county to just one drop-off point.... With some success so far in the Courts, it has to be said....

This is ridiculous. Warranty does not start from manufacture date. It starts from the moment of sale if you have a receipt and you can get extra warranty benefits or an extension if you register it with the manufacturer. This is what seems to have happened here since the manufacturer usually doesn't know when the warranty started, unless the purchaser then registers it. Plenty of consumer electronics like this come with a warranty card advising you to register it online. All my recent external drives have.

Do you seriously think you could go in and buy a component and find out there's only two weeks left of the warranty because it's been on the shelf a while?

3 days? PA counts must be eeeasy! Imagine if they had to do a PR system count like in Ireland.

People vote.. Polls close.. Votes then get counted.. The counts takes as long as they take. What's so hard for ppl to understand?
