Very windy in Dundalk. Not exposed but the roof tiles certainly rattling a bit also all windows closed but it still rattling doors.

I suppose we should grateful the multi talented George Lee is busy elsewhere, and not banging on about reds and yellows.

The farmers around here should be happy anyway as there was fairly heavy rain all night. It was windy during the night too, but winds have strengthened further in the last few hours, the trees are taking a right pasting at the moment.

I'm in North Louth. Now, we are on a hill, though not particularly exposed, but the wind is a good bit stronger than anything I remember over the last few storms. Keep having to check that everything is still secured every half hour or so. It's really whipping through the house too.

In south monaghan here and i was thinking the same all morning, we have had orange warnings that was weaker than this.

Checked my weather station at lunchtime its gusting up to 68mph, never saw so much debris on the ground from trees on the ground and its dangerous as the wind is whipping downed leaves and branches into the air would not like to get hit with them.

Is this wind meant to last right through until tomorrow night? Looks like that from the forecast. Some very strong gusts here in Kildare.

ESB map showing numerous outages mainly from Limerick north. Not surprised as it's violent enough here for hours now in South Tipp.

Dundalk, ESB out for a while, back now. Never happened during Ophelia or other storms. Much stronger winds.
