    I'm not a lawyer. My lay-mans understanding is that it needs to be Public, Untrue and Damaging for anything to qualify as "defamation" (there is no longer libel and slander as concepts, it all falls under defamation now). There are some exemptions along the lines of "deeply held beliefs" and "genuine opinion" which might exempt the statement here, I dunno (I'm not a lawyer). Additionally the person would have to be named explicitly (or sufficiently identified for there to be no doubt about who is being referenced). A username on a website is not enough by a long shot and online accounts have no preotection from defamation as far as I understand. I'm not a lawyer

    Its generally the sites policy to ask users to refer to the persons posts/opinions/public utterances rather than to the poster themselves and certainly prefer them not to name private people explicitly.
