How did you manage to get an electricians job with an electronics Diploma and a qual in Industrial Automation? Do you also have an apprenticeship served? I find that having a time served apprenticeship or an level 8 ( honours) degree is required to be even be considered for anything in an electricians role in Ireland. I have heard that electricians can make good money and good overtime whereas technicians are lucky to scrape by on €24k and no overtime...expected to work long hours for nothing. I have a Diploma in Electronics from GMIT and a Cert in Industrial Automation from FÁS, level 6 also a Diploma in Infromation Technology from DCU....but no one will hire me.
Would Australia be worth a punt or will they insist on a time served apprenticeship, whic I do not have, as well. I'm curious and also a little bit hungry to get back into a technical role after 7 years out of it and doing a very peripheral job to make money.
