now and again i pick up a little information direct from the man u players and press--this is the latest-sir alex wants -andy young-+another young croation who is a friend of toxic[who he has already signed] but the big buy will be a player from lyon-i think his name is bonzima--leaving will be treves who will be going to liverpool,it is said sir alex likes him but he dosent want to spend 25mill on a player already with him,he would rather bring in somthing new to sharpen up the team, all of this depends on the sale in the summer of renaldo who he hopes to get 80mill for--this news is expected to be in next sundays newspapers

    Hi BHP,

I don't wish to join the Soccer forum, but I would like to put up the below one off [Req] thread, which I believe is compatible with the forums rules. Can I please have temporary access to post it and then you won't hear from me again. Thanks In Advance

(If you have no problem posting it for me and then informing me of it's location, then feel free to proceed. It would be the last you'll hear of the matter).

[Req] ROI “Granny Rule” Player Stories

    Hi All,

I’m compiling a list of humorous stories about Irish “Granny Rule” players lack of knowledge in matters relating to Ireland. The below is what I’ve come across so far. If you happen to know any others, feel free to share.

    Thanks In Advance

    1. On first arriving in Ireland, Jason McAteer entered a pub in Dublin and asked “Do you serve Guinness here?”

(as per McAteer on Podge and Rodge Show).

    2. After Ireland's last game in Italia '90, the players were sitting looking rather dejected as you can well imagine. Taoiseach of the day Charlie Haughey comes in and tells the lads Ireland is proud of them, etc. etc.

Tony Cascarino turns to Quinn: 'Who the f*ck is he?'
    Quinn: 'He's the Taoiseach.'

Andy Townsend asks Cascarino: 'What did he say'
Cascarino: 'I don't know... I think he said he owns a tea shop.'

    (as told by Niall Quinn)
