splitting account into two

Hi, we are buying a property which is connected to electricity but we are only buying the house and it needs to be separated from the farm buildings next door - all currently on the same bill.
We would presumably need an electrician to physically split the areas but is this done by ESB or a separate electrician?
Once done is one side disconnected and will we have to have a whole new connection?
Or can the house remain connected but the account split into two parts?

Hi Sarah,

Thank you for getting in touch.

As the_syco stated in their post, you will need a second meter and a separate connection. If you have any questions regarding the application process, you can contact ESB Networks directly.

If there is anything else we can help you with, please don't hesitate to ask. We would be happy to help.

Kind regards
Aoife
