Dear IW,
Can you please advise how I can determine the water pressure at a house that I am currently moving into?
Thanks...

Hi Biddlybob,

Thanks for your message.

If you would like to check the water pressure coming into your property, you can do so by acquiring a private plumber to check the pressure. This can be examined from the outside stop valve located in your meter box outside your property, in order to check the pressure of the private side infrastructure.

Irish Water does not provide pressure reading for public water mains as it varies throughout the country. Generally the pressure from the public water mains into a property lies between 1.5 and 2 bar.

We hope you find this information helpful. Please do not hesitate to contact us again should you have any further queries.

Kind regards,
Agata
