"Phishing" email

18.11.2015 15:04 #1
Hi all,

If you receive or have received an email purporting to come from Electric Ireland, and stating that you are eligible for a refund so to supply details of your bank card:

Electric Ireland would like to advise that this was a phishing email attempting to obtain your debit card details and was not sent by Electric Ireland. We are advising people not to click on the link or reply to the email.

If you have followed the link in the email and completed the form, we would urge you to contact your debit card company or bank immediately via the telephone number listed on the back of your debit card. If you are an Online Billing customer, we would also recommend changing your password immediately to your Online Billing account.

If you are an Electric Ireland customer, we would like to reassure you that your personal details on Electric Ireland's database are secure and have not been compromised.

Press statement on ESB Group website.

Hi gingerspecs,

Thank you for letting us know. If you would confirm the email address it came from, we would really appreciate that also.

And here is the relevant link on the Electric Ireland website.

Thanks again,
Una
